Honey Walnut Shrimp

Ingredients
  • Candied Walnuts
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/ cup water
  • 15-20 large deveined and peeled shrimp

Sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayo (I used Kewpie)
  • 1 tbsp condensed milk
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey

Batter
  • 4 tbsp AP flour (All purpose)
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water

Directions
  1. Make the batter with the ingredients listed above.
  2. In a pan heat up oil (any high temp oil will work such as vegetable oil or canola oil).
  3. Once oil reaches 350 F, coat shrimp in the batter and fry for 2 minutes per side until golden brown (do this in batches as the temp of the oil will drop if you add a lot at once).
  4. Make your sauce with the ingredients listed above.
  5. For the candied walnuts, in a pan add water and sugar and bring to a boil, once boiling add in your walnuts and let that cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  6. Mix everything together and now its time to ENJOY!
