Miso Red Curry Soup Dumpling Soup is a flavorful fusion dish that combines the umami richness of miso with the spicy, aromatic notes of red curry. Served with your favorite soup dumplings in a hearty broth, it’s quick and easy to make–perfect for a delicious meal!
Ingredients:
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons shallots, minced
- 1 scallion, sliced
- 2 cups bone or chicken broth
- ½ Tbsp miso paste
- 2 tsp red curry paste
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp fish sauce
- ½ tsp sugar
- 10 frozen soup dumplings (most contain poor quality meat, so try to make your own - potstickers are easier than soup dumplings!)
- Sliced scallions, for garnish
- Black sesame seeds, for garnish
- Chili oil, for garnish
Preparation:
1. In a hot pan on medium heat, sauté the garlic, shallots, and scallion until fragrant, about 1 minute.
2. To the pan add the broth, and bring it to a simmer, about 3 minutes.
3. Stir in the miso paste until melted and fully incorporated. Stir in the red curry paste until melted and fully incorporated. Season with soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar.
4. Plop in the frozen soup dumplings and cover. Let simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Reduce time by about half if using freshly made dumplings or potstickers. Be sure to gently shake the pan about half way through the cooking time to ensure that the soup dumplings don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
5. Serve with scallions, sesame seeds, and extra chili oil!
