Here’s an easy and flavorful Crab Cake recipe for you! Made with mostly (or all, if you like) lump crab meat, they were a huge hit when my neighbor served them recently at her baby shower! You can watch me make these on Instagram or TikTok.

How to Make Crab Cakes

Full instructions are included in the recipe below, but here is a basic overview of what you’ll need to do, along with some important tidbits to help you make the most of this Crab Cakes recipe:

Spicy Cajun Remoulade

Pictured above are the crab cake sliders I made, with baby spinach and cherry tomatoes. They’re sauced with my Spicy Cajun Remoulade, the recipe for which I’ve included below:

Making this remoulade to accompany your Crab Cakes is super easy: just combine it all together! Dump everything directly into a container that has an airtight lid and whisk it together really well. Seal it up and stick it in the fridge for at least two hours to let the flavors meld. Then use it how you like! Use it within about a week tho, I don’t think it’ll last much longer than that.

It’s also great as a dipping sauce! Looking for a side? My Spicy Yellow Rice recipe goes very well with this one.

Description

Maryland Style!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh lump crab meat
  • 1/2 lb fresh crab claw meat
  • 1/3 C mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 10 Saltine crackers, crushed
  • 1 tbsp flat-leaf parsley, minced
  • 1 tbsp creole mustard
  • 2 tsp creole seasoning
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients except the crab meat. Once combined, gently fold in the crab. Mix well and try not to break up the lump crab meat.
  2. 2Spray a 1/3 C measuring cup with nonstick spray and use it to divide the crab mixture into portions. Use your hand to pack each portion into a ball. Don’t flatten these, they should be like oversized meatballs – nice and round.
  3. 3Cover tightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes. In the meantime prepare your frying pan. Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom and come up the sides just a bit. Heat until shimmering.
  4. 4Once the oil is hot, carefully add the crab cakes in a single layer. Fry for 2 minutes, then flip and fry for another 2-3 minutes, just until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack. Serve with my Spicy Cajun Remoulade (recipe in the post above)!
